The journey from Islamabad to Chilas is memorable, filled with breathtaking landscapes, charming hill stations, and cultural experiences. There are two incredible routes, the one on the 8th wonder of the world, Karakorum Highway, along the mighty Indus River.

The other option is via Kaghan and Naran Valleys. It is only during the summer, June to October. Naran, a small town in the Kaghan Valley, is a popular tourist destination. It is a base for exploring natural wonders, including the stunning Naran Valley, Lake Saiful Muluk, and the iconic Malika Parbat Mountain. Crossing the Babusar Pass is a thrilling experience. Situated at 4,173 meters (13,691 feet), this mountain pass offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. It’s a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Free day at Fairy Meadows to Explore the Surrounding

The day is perfect for exploring the enchanting surroundings of the fairytale meadow. Embarking on a delightful hike, we once again traverse through the breathtaking coniferous forest, making our way toward Biale. This quaint place offers charming summer houses and cozy huts where we can stay and indulge in delectable dining options.

As we venture closer to the majestic ice giants, our path leads us toward the Nanga-Parbat base camp. The scenery along the way is simply awe-inspiring, leaving us in wonderment. We are treated to mind-blowing attractions and natural wonders that adorn the surrounding landscape.

After immersing ourselves in the fantastic sights and experiences, we begin our return hike back to the fairytale meadow. The trail weaves through picturesque vistas and serene environments, providing ample opportunities to soak in the beauty of nature.

Once we reach the fairytale meadow, we settle in for another delightful overnight stay, just as we did the previous night. Surrounded by the magical ambiance of the meadow, we can reflect on the extraordinary adventures of the day and bask in the tranquility of our surroundings.

Overall, this day offers a truly remarkable and immersive experience, allowing us to explore the wonders of the coniferous forest, discover the charming village of Biale, and venture closer to the awe-inspiring ice giants on the path toward the Nanga-Parbat base camp. After breakfast, we will set off towards Tato, where we will take jeeps to Raikot Bridge. From there, our journey continues towards the beautiful Astore Valley. The drive on the renowned Karakoram Highway will take approximately half an hour, and once we turn south, we will be treated to breathtaking views along the Astore River. One of the day’s top highlights will be the picturesque hilly villages we will encounter along the way. Driving on the narrow Astore Road will undoubtedly provide an unforgettable experience. Finally, we will spend the night at a comfortable hotel with Nanga Parbat South Face views. This place takes us to Mazino Pass and Nanga Parbat South Face Base Camp.

Our next destination is the mystical Deosai Plains and to Skardu. Brace yourself for an adventurous journey as we drive through the rugged terrains and witness the untouched wilderness. Deosai is famous for its high-altitude lakes, lush meadows, and diverse wildlife, including the Himalayan brown bear and marmots. We will have a great view of the highest plateau in the world.

We will head towards Skardu, a picturesque town in the Karakoram Mountains. Skardu is known for its stunning landscapes, crystal-clear lakes, and ancient fortresses. We will be passing through the Sadpara Village (the village of mountaineers), and the crystal clear Sadpara Lake is mesmerizing on this day. It is walking in the bazaar in the afternoon to explore the local culture and tradition. Overnight stay in hotel.

We will spend the next two days exploring the local culture, visiting the Shangrila Resort, and enjoying a boat ride in the tranquil waters. Overnight stay in Skardu. 

 We will visit Shigar Village, located in the Skardu region of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, which offers a unique blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and adventure. The historical Shigar Fort: also known as Fong Khar, is the centerpiece of Shigar Village. This centuries-old fort has been restored and transformed into a heritage hotel. The road to Gilgit offers mesmerizing views of the Karakoram and Hindu Kush Mountain ranges. We will visit the famous Kargah Buddha, a 7th-century rock carving, and explore the local bazaars. Now,  we will explore Peshawar, the vibrant capital city of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Peshawar is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. One of the must-visit places in Peshawar is the historic Peshawar Museum, which houses a vast collection of Gandhara art and artifacts. The museum showcases exquisite sculptures, Buddhist relics, and ancient artifacts that date back to the Gandhara civilization.

Apart from the museum, Peshawar offers various attractions to explore. We can take a stroll through the bustling markets of Peshawar, such as Qissa Khwani Bazaar and Namak Mandi.
