Glimpses of Heritage Tour

A memorable experience is traveling and learning about Pakistan’s most obscure regions. The tour will give you an understanding of how the magnificent ancient civilizations of the Indus and Gandhara flourished along the Indus River, what drove the invaders to invade it, why Sufis made it their home, and how the emperors established their vast empires, from the Mughals of Persia to British in Europe. The tour will begin in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and end in Karachi, Pakistan’s financial capital. Throughout the excursion, you will be enthralled by the region’s stunning archaeological sites, such as Taxila, which contains some significant Gandhara Civilization artifacts.

The Taxila excavations, steeped in history, transport you 2,500 years into Buddha’s time. You can discover countless depictions of Buddha here. We will stop at the Khewra Salt Mines, the second-largest salt mine in the world and the oldest in the subcontinent, and the Shiva-dedicated Hindu temple Katas Temple on the way to Lahore. Lahore’s rich and breathtaking cultures, including the spectacular Badshahi Mosque, Badshahi Fort, Lahore Museum, Shahi Hammam, Wazir Khan Mosque, Shalimar Gardens, etc., are a visual feast. Another experience is going to the Wagah border to see the flag-lowering ritual.

Mohenjo Daro, an outstanding and well-preserved Indus Valley Civilization archaeological site, was the most advanced ancient civilization in the known universe. The discoveries point to a sophisticated agricultural system, natural financial management systems for trade with other civilizations, beautiful artwork that reflects their way of life, baked-brick buildings that offer an impressive view of urban architecture, drains and wells that demonstrate their engineering prowess, and an impressive society that had created an entirely self-sufficient living system. Your journey will be beneficial if you see the Chaukandi tombs, which are part of an early Islamic cemetery. These tombs are notable for their intricate sandstone carvings. Day 1 ISLAMABAD

We warmly welcome you to the beautiful capital of Pakistan. Upon arrival, our guide meet you at the Islamabad International Airport to bring you to the hotel. You will be relaxed and give time to your guide for the orientation session about this fantastic tour. In the afternoon, we will visit the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. We will explore the two towns; both offer unique highlights to explore Pakistan’s ancient and modern history. By the evening, we will be back at the hotel after dinner to discuss the next day’s trip and highlights and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2 VISIT TO TAXILA

On the second day of the visit, a trip to Taxila, an archaeological site in the Punjab province of Pakistan, is planned. Taxila, also known as Takshashila, was a significant city in ancient India, renowned for its role in learning and commerce.

The city’s history dates back to the 6th century BCE when it was part of the Achaemenid Empire. Emperor Ashoka ruled over Taxila during the Mauryan Empire, making it a prominent center for Buddhist education and philosophy. Over the years, Taxila came under the rule of various empires, including the Indo-Greeks, Kushans, and Gupta Empires.

The site includes several important archaeological sites, such as Jaulian, a Buddhist monastery; Sirkap, an ancient city known for trade; Dharmarajika Stupa, believed to contain Buddha’s ashes; and Mohra Moradu Stupa, known for its intricate carvings. Day 3 ISLAMABAD-LAHORE

A journey from Islamabad to Lahore, the itinerary includes visiting two significant tourist spots en route: Katas Raj and Khewra Salt Mines. Katas Raj is a collection of ancient Hindu temples known for their intricate architecture and association with the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. These temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva, are considered sacred by Hindus.
