A memorable experience is traveling and learning about Pakistan’s most obscure regions. The tour will give you an understanding of how the magnificent ancient civilizations of the Indus and Gandhara flourished along the Indus River, what drove the invaders to invade it, why Sufis made it their home, and how the emperors established their vast empires, from the Mughals of Persia to British in Europe. The tour will begin in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and end in Karachi, Pakistan’s financial capital. Throughout the excursion, you will be enthralled by the region’s stunning archaeological sites, such as Taxila, which contains some significant Gandhara Civilization artifacts.

The Taxila excavations, steeped in history, transport you 2,500 years into Buddha’s time. You can discover countless depictions of Buddha here. We will stop at the Khewra Salt Mines, the second-largest salt mine in the world and the oldest in the subcontinent, and the Shiva-dedicated Hindu temple Katas Temple on the way to Lahore. Lahore’s rich and breathtaking cultures, including the spectacular Badshahi Mosque, Badshahi Fort, Lahore Museum, Shahi Hammam, Wazir Khan Mosque, Shalimar Gardens, etc., are a visual feast. Another experience is going to the Wagah border to see the flag-lowering ritual.

Mohenjo Daro, an outstanding and well-preserved Indus Valley Civilization archaeological site, was the most advanced ancient civilization in the known universe. The discoveries point to a sophisticated agricultural system, natural financial management systems for trade with other civilizations, beautiful artwork that reflects their way of life, baked-brick buildings that offer an impressive view of urban architecture, drains and wells that demonstrate their engineering prowess, and an impressive society that had created an entirely self-sufficient living system. Your journey will be beneficial if you see the Chaukandi tombs, which are part of an early Islamic cemetery. These tombs are notable for their intricate sandstone carvings. In essence, each place we stop in during the tour—cities, towns, and villages—has a captivating tale of its own.

  1. Day 1 ISLAMABAD

     We warmly welcome you to the beautiful capital of Pakistan. Upon arrival, our guide meet you at the Islamabad International Airport to bring you to the hotel. You will be relaxed and give time to your guide for the orientation session about this fantastic tour. In the afternoon, we will visit the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. We will explore the two towns; both offer unique highlights to explore Pakistan’s ancient and modern history. By the evening, we will be back at the hotel after dinner to discuss the next day’s trip and highlights and overnight stay in the hotel.

  2. Day 2 VISIT TO TAXILA

    On the second day of the visit, a trip to Taxila, an archaeological site in the Punjab province of Pakistan, is planned. Taxila, also known as Takshashila, was a significant city in ancient India, renowned for its role in learning and commerce.

    The city’s history dates back to the 6th century BCE when it was part of the Achaemenid Empire. Emperor Ashoka ruled over Taxila during the Mauryan Empire, making it a prominent center for Buddhist education and philosophy. Over the years, Taxila came under the rule of various empires, including the Indo-Greeks, Kushans, and Gupta Empires.

    The site includes several important archaeological sites, such as Jaulian, a Buddhist monastery; Sirkap, an ancient city known for trade; Dharmarajika Stupa, believed to contain Buddha’s ashes; and Mohra Moradu Stupa, known for its intricate carvings. Today, these sites attract tourists interested in ancient Indian history and culture. After the visit, the afternoon is free for relaxation and independent exploration of the hotel surroundings and local markets exploration. Overnight stay in the hotel.

  3. Day 3 ISLAMABAD-LAHORE

    A journey from Islamabad to Lahore, the itinerary includes visiting two significant tourist spots en route: Katas Raj and Khewra Salt Mines. Katas Raj is a collection of ancient Hindu temples known for their intricate architecture and association with the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. These temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva, are considered sacred by Hindus.

    On the other hand, Khewra Salt Mines, discovered by Alexander the Great’s troops in 320 BCE, are the world’s second-largest salt mines. The mines boast unique geological formations and pink salt crystals.

    Today, we will explore Lahore, a captivating city in Pakistan’s Punjab province that offers a multitude of attractions, making it a must-visit destination. Our day begins with a visit to the iconic Lahore Fort, followed by the majestic Badshahi Mosque, the delicate Wazir Khan Mosque, and the impressive tombs of Jahangir and Noor Jahan. These great sites provide a glimpse into the rich history of Lahore, and we will be treated to guided tours with informative presentations.
    Lahore itself boasts a diverse and ancient history that spans over two thousand years. Its origins can be traced back to the 2nd millennium BC, with evidence of settlement in the region.     Today, we will embark on a three-hour drive to Bahawalpur. Along the way, we will stop at Derawar Fort, which is approximately 100 km from Bahawalpur. Derawar Fort is a remarkable structure that dates back to the 9th century. Located in the heart of the Cholistan Desert and encircled by dunes, it is recognized as one of Pakistan’s largest and most impressive forts. The fort is a popular tourist destination, and we will briefly visit it to delve into its rich history and background.

    Furthermore, we will also visit Noor Mahal, an exquisite palace constructed in the 19th century by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV. This architectural masterpiece combines elements from Islamic, European, and Indian traditions.

  10. Day 10 HYDERABAD-MOHENJADARO

    Mohenjo-Daro, located in the province of Sindh, Pakistan, is an ancient city that was part of the Indus Valley Civilization. Built around 2500 BCE, it was a prominent urban center covering about 250 acres. The city showcased Varkable urban planning, featuring streets, houses, public buildings, and an intricate drainage and sewage system. Its inhabitants were skilled in various trades such as agriculture, pottery, metallurgy, and trade. They also possessed a writing system that remained undeciphered. However, the city was eventually abandoned around 1900 BCE, possibly due to environmental changes or invasions. Visitors can explore various galleries featuring aviation-related exhibits, a souvenir shop, and a restaurant. The outdoor display of aircraft, including the renowned F-86 Sabre and the F-104 Starfighter, is a major highlight.

    Port Grand is a vibrant waterfront destination located in the heart of Karachi, ideal for food enthusiasts. The trip can be reserved with an initial deposit of 30% at the time of booking. The initial deposit shall not be refunded but can be transferred for a future trip.

FINAL PAYMENT

We require the full cost of the trip to be paid 30 days prior to the start of the tour. Payments can only be made in cash or through bank transfers to our designated bank account. We do not accept payments via credit cards. Please ensure that you only accepted invoices generated by Discover Pakistan and sent through our official email ID.

1)      Cancellations must be communicated in writing to Discover Pakistan or the agent through whom the trip was booked. Cancellation charges will be applied as follows:

Cancellation before 30 days or more: After deducting 30%, the remaining amount will be refunded. If the deposit is retained with the consent of our client, no cancellation charges will be applied. The full amount can be adjusted toward a future trip.
Cancellation within two weeks before departure: 50% of the package offer will be charged.
Cancellation within one week of departure or no-show: The full payment will be forfeited.
No refunds will be provided if you voluntarily or involuntarily leave the trip after it has started. Additionally, no refunds will be given for any unused meals, accommodation, or services.
